The first line item for interior painting pricing is “Ceilings”- You will first need the floor square footage of your home. One can find this easily on Zillow. Put your Portland, Beaverton, Tigard, or Lake Oswego address in and BOOM it will give you your square footage. Just remember that this will not include garage square footage so if you're painting your garage measure Length x Width of garage and include. Once you have your square footage most painters charge anywhere from $.75 – $2.00 per square foot to paint ceilings. $.75 per foot would be an easy 1 coat single level home with no drywall repair. $2.00 per foot would be a difficult 2 story vaulted ceilings with a little drywall repair. Example- ( 1,500 sq ft home X $1.25 per square ft (average)= $1,875.00) this would include labor and materials.

The second line item for interior painting pricing is “Walls”- walls will be done with the square footage as well. Most painters will charge $2.00- $4.00 per square foot on walls. $2.00 would be one coat, one color and one-story home. $4.00 would be 2 coats on everything, a 2-story home, drywall repairs and multiple colors. Example- (1,500 sq ft home X $3.00 sq ft (average) = $4,500.00 to paint all walls. This would include labor and materials.

The third line item for interior painting pricing is “Trim and Doors”- this is the hardest one to estimate since there are so many variables. Condition of trim, how much trim, wainscot, crown molding, 2 doors or 46 doors? Is the trim already painted and needs a fresh coat? Or does your trim need to be primed and painted? So trim and doors can vary anywhere from $2.50- $10.00 per sq ft. $2.50 per square foot for a ranch home, white trim being re-painted white. $10.00 per square foot for a Craftsman home loaded with trimu, priming and painting everything. Example (1500 sq ft home X $4.00 to paint trim and doors (average) = $6,000.00 this would include labor and materials.

Our  hourly base rate is $65  per man hour and can vary slightly depending on the type of project. We generally only work at an hourly rate for add ons to projects and special circumstances for hard to estimate projects.
